Manila.- At least 32 people have died and 37 have been injured in central Philippines, official sources and local media reported this Wednesday, after a 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck the region last night.
In the city of "Bogo," located in the central region of Cebu and one of the closest to the epicenter, 27 people died, to which another five are added in the neighboring San Remigio, according to data from the Provincial Information Office cited by the Philippine television network ABS-CBN.

A spokesperson for the information center, Ainjeliz Orong, specified in statements to the chain that at least 37 people were injured. The 6.9 magnitude earthquake occurred at 21:59 local time (13:59 GMT) on Tuesday at a depth of ten kilometers near the city of Bogo, according to the Philippine seismological agency (Phivolcs), also triggering an alert about a possible localized tsunami that was withdrawn this Wednesday.
