Mexico City.- The Ministry of Public Security of the Mexican state of Sinaloa reported this Sunday the release of 20 people, 17 men and 3 women, who were allegedly kidnapped, in addition to seizing weapons, ammunition, telephones and other illicit objects.
In a statement released on social media, the agency detailed that the operation was carried out in Campo El Diez, south of Culiacán, where the people, all adults, were located in a mechanical workshop.
He also mentioned that inside this property, a long AR-15 type weapon, an air rifle, eight magazines, 90 cartridges, a 12-antenna signal jammer, and two tactical vests with two ballistic plates each were seized.

In addition to 18 cell phones, 21 marijuana cigarettes, 23 US dollars, a stolen Hyundai Tucson vehicle, and 12 tire-deflators. The Secretariat of Public Security confirmed that the rescued people were also checked to verify their state of health and presented to the authorities for the corresponding procedures. The operation was coordinated by the Mexican Army, the National Guard, the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), the Attorney General's Office (FGR), the State Attorney General's Office, and the Secretariat of Public Security, through the State Preventive Police. Sinaloa is one of the most dangerous states in Mexico, as one year after the outbreak of the violence crisis in Culiacán, the state's capital, due to an internal dispute within the Sinaloa Cartel, the recorded balance is 1,828 intentional homicides and 2,390 disappearances.
