Biden congratulates Trump on achieving the ceasefire agreement in Gaza

New York.- The Democratic former president of United States Joe Biden congratulated this Monday the president, Donald Trump, for achieving the release of living hostages and a new ceasefire in Gaza. "I am deeply grateful and relieved that this day has come: for the last 20 living hostages who have gone through an unimaginable hell and have finally been reunited with their families and loved ones, and for the civilians of Gaza who have suffered immeasurable losses and will finally have the opportunity to rebuild their lives", Biden wrote in a post on X.

The former president congratulated President Trump and his team "for their work in achieving the renewal of the ceasefire agreement". "Now, with the backing of the United States and the world, the Middle East is heading towards a peace that I hope will last and a future for Israelis and Palestinians alike with equal conditions of peace, dignity and security," Biden concluded. Today, the leaders of the mediating countries between Israel and Hamas - the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey - signed an agreement in Egypt stipulating the end of two years of war in the Gaza Strip as the main mediators in the conflict since the Hamas attacks against Israel in October 2023.
