A Dominican doctor who was not licensed to practice medicine in the United States has been arrested after a 27-year-old woman died following an anti-aging treatment at a holistic medicine center he owns in the Bronx, the Daily Mail reported on Monday.
According to the report, Luis Rojas Cabrera was charged with reckless endangerment and unauthorized practice of a profession after police were notified of the woman’s death.
The patient was transported unconscious from Bereshit Lifestyle Center to NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital on Sunday, where her death was later confirmed.
The Bereshit Lifestyle Center, located in the Riverdale neighborhood of the Bronx, offers integrative medicine and natural therapies with a focus on lifestyle changes to help prevent and treat disease. According to information published on the center’s website, it was founded and is operated by Rojas Cabrera.
