Mexico City.- Five people died and 25 were injured after a traffic accident between a bus and a tractor-trailer in the town of Caborca, in the Mexican state of Sonora (northeast), reported this Friday the state Civil Protection agency through its social networks.
The emergency department explained that the fatal accident occurred at kilometer 118 of the Sonoyta-Caborca section, to which Red Cross, Firefighters, Municipal Police and Civil Protection personnel were dispatched.
Initially, the organization reported four deaths from the event, but hours later confirmed the death of one more person.
Regarding the number of injured, authorities reported a total of 25 injured people, of whom nine continue to receive medical attention and are "out of danger".
One of the vehicles involved in the crash is from the Tufesa transportation company, as confirmed by the company itself in a press release.

Tufesa detailed that its operator is hospitalized receiving medical attention and acknowledged his "effort to maintain control of the unit in a critical situation". Likewise, the company stated that it will remain "respectful" during the process to investigate the causes of the accident and said that it will "fully cooperate with the competent authorities" during the official expert assessment.
