Buenos Aires.- Private analysts consulted monthly by the
Argentine Central Bank for its market expectations report slightly upwardly revised their inflation forecast for this year in the South American country to 28.2%.
The projection on the
evolution of retail prices was increased by 0.9 percentage points compared to the previous survey, conducted at the end of July.
Last year, consumer prices in Argentina accumulated a rise of 117.8%.
According to the Market Expectations Survey corresponding to August and whose results were announced this Thursday, experts expected inflation to rise by 2.1% in the eighth month of the year, compared to last July.
The official inflation data for August will be released on the 10th.
According to the survey conducted by the Central Bank, between August 27 and 29, private economists project an inflation rate of 1.8% for this month of September.
According to the latest official data available, inflation rose by 1.9% in July compared to June and by 36.6% year-on-year.
After registering strong increases in the first months of 2024, consumer prices have progressively moderated their rate of increase, thanks to the tough monetary and fiscal policy imposed by the government of Javier Milei.
