'Influencer' is murdered by 'VIP fan' after live stream and her body is found in a suitcase

The body of Yoon Ji-a, a young South Korean actress and 'influencer', was found lifeless and abandoned inside a suitcase on a mountain in Muju County (South Korea), reported local media. Her killer, approximately 50 years old and identified as Choi, had established contact with the 'influencer' (who had more than 300,000 followers on TikTok) by presenting himself as the director of a technology company and as a "big-spending VIP" on video platforms. Under this pretext, he had proposed a business partnership that promised to increase her number of followers on social media.

The day before the assault, the businessman was captured by the region's security cameras while imploring the young woman on his knees. According to the report, Choi was going through a severe financial crisis and his house had been foreclosed. The crime occurred on September 11th when, around 3:30 PM, he approached Yoon after she finished a live broadcast and strangled her to death. After taking Yoon's life, the aggressor put the young woman's body in a suitcase and went to Muju mountain to abandon the body in the open air. Following her arrest on September 13, Choi initially denied the act, although as soon as she knew that the police had found a body in the mountains, she confessed to having murdered the 'influencer'. It is speculated that the anger and helplessness of the businessman in the face of the collapse of an alleged plan to obtain economic benefits from the actress were the reasons that led to his brutal and deadly aggression.
