Israel bombs Yemen's capital after Houthi attack that left 20 injured in Eilat

Sana.- Israeli fighter jets launched a new round of bombings against Sana'a, the capital of Yemen, this Thursday, a day after a drone attack launched by Houthi rebels wounded at least 20 people in Eilat, in southern Israel, reported the Yemeni insurgents. "Israeli aggression targets the capital, Sana'a", said Al Masirah television, controlled by the Houthis, which added that the bombings coincided with the start of the speech of the supreme leader of the rebels, Abdelmalek al Houthi, which is usually recorded.

According to EFE, several consecutive bombings hit the areas of the south, west and center of the Yemeni capital, without the Houthis having reported the material damage resulting from the attack or any fatalities so far.

This new wave of Israeli attacks comes a day after Yemeni rebels launched drones against the coastal city of Eilat, in southern Israel, an action that caused at least 20 injuries, two of them in serious condition.

Yesterday's was the second drone fired from Yemen to hit this southern Israeli city in less than a week. Last Thursday, September 18, another Houthi drone hit a hotel in Eilat, leaving no injuries or fatalities. Also, Israel has bombed Yemen on several occasions in the last month. On September 10th, a wave of Israeli attacks killed 46 people, 38 in Sana'a and eight in the northwestern province of Al Jawf, while another 165 were injured, according to the Houthi Ministry of Health. A few days later, Israeli fighter jets bombed the port of the city of Al Hodeidah, on the Red Sea coast of Yemen, after the Israeli Army requested the "immediate" evacuation of this strategic facility in which, according to Israel, "military infrastructure" of the Houthis is located. Israeli bombings have caused the deaths of hundreds of people in Yemen, while at the end of August an attack by the Jewish State killed the prime minister and eleven other members of the Yemeni rebels' Executive.
