Washington.- During his official visit to the White House, Argentine President Javier Milei presented U.S. President Donald Trump with a heartfelt letter written by the families of Argentine hostages recently released in the Middle East. The gesture was part of a recognition of the key role Trump played in the efforts that facilitated their release.
“You returned the light we thought we had lost,” the text points out, highlighting the hope recovered after 738 days of suffering by the Cunio and Horn families, who signed the document.
Families described Trump's action as a historic event, to the point of considering it worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize.
During the beginning of the bilateral meeting, President Milei also spoke about the economic and social situation that Argentina is going through, emphasizing his commitment to structural reforms and openness to the world.
