Manhattan, New York.- This Sunday, thousands of Dominicans residing in New York participated in the 43rd edition of the Dominican Parade of Manhattan, one of the main celebrations of the diaspora in the United States.
The parade went through the main avenues of the city, with the presence of representatives from music, sports, the media, and politics, in an event that aims to highlight the identity and contribution of the Dominican community in the United States.
Former Major League Baseball player Nelson Cruz was designated Grand Marshal of the parade, while communicator Carlos Antonio Cruz, known as “Caramelo“, was named ambassador after his recent triumph on the reality show “La Casa de los Famosos“, from Telemundo.
Among those honored in this edition are Mayra Linares, Ramón Mercedes, Mimi Henríquez, Domingo Cruz, Fidel Malena, and Giamara M. Rosado. These personalities were also previously recognized for their contributions at the Bronx Dominican Heritage Celebration.
Artists such as Eladio Carrión, Álex Sensation, Jandy Ventura, Yailin la Más Viral, Lomiiel and Crazy Design, El Blachy, Arlene MC, joined the big party, leading troupes and floats during the parade.
Also in attendance were communicators such as Michael Miguel Holguín, Nahiony Reyes, Jenny Blanco, Moisés Salcé, Caro Brito and Yulay Piña, who accompanied the Dominican community in this cultural event.
The parade has once again managed to bring together thousands of Dominicans residing in the Big Apple, but also Dominicans established in the Dominican Republic, who travel annually to participate in the great celebration.
