Caracas.- Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro affirmed this Wednesday that Latin America "repudiates" the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States (CIA) after denouncing the alleged participation of this institution in coups d'état in the region.
"No to coups d'état given by the CIA (...). How long CIA coups? Latin America doesn't want them, doesn't need them, and repudiates them," Maduro stated in a broadcast on the state-owned channel Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).
The leader spoke out after the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump authorized the CIA to carry out lethal operations in Venezuela as well as in the Caribbean, in an increase in its actions against the Venezuelan government with the aim of "removing it from power," as reported this Wednesday by The New York Times newspaper. You may be interested in:http://Trump confirms that he authorized the CIA to operate in Venezuela
