Yolanda Ramos, mother of Noelia Castillo, known for receiving euthanasia at the age of 25, has filed formal complaints with the public prosecutor’s offices in Barcelona and Tarragona (Spain) to investigate the rapes that her daughter claimed to have suffered before attempting suicide and requesting the intervention to die, local media reported this Friday.
Ramos relies on a handwritten diary that his daughter gave him, in which he recounts the events and provides names, phone numbers, and photos that would allow for the identification of the alleged perpetrators.

According to the text, the first assault was committed by her partner at the time, a young Pakistani man, who insisted on having sexual relations even though Noelia did not want to. The second occurred on October 3, 2022, in Salou: after meeting a waiter, the young woman was drugged and attacked by three men, who took advantage of her vulnerable state.
A few days after this gang rape, Noelia attempted to take her own life by jumping from a fifth floor, which left her paraplegic. Until now, there was not enough evidence to file a formal complaint.

The victim’s death does not prevent criminal action against her attackers. Yolanda seeks for the authorities to investigate whether a crime was committed, as her daughter would have wanted, who spoke publicly about the events.
