The American billionaire Elon Musk made an offer to the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, associated with the deceased Colombian drug trafficker Pablo Escobar, and the president responded.

Faced with a publication made by Petro on the social network X, in which he spoke about the aggression of the US to Venezuela, Musk commented with the well-known phrase linked to Escobar: "Money or lead?"; which he accompanied with the photograph published by the White House of the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, captured.

The phrase symbolizes Escobar's violent and coercive approach to drug trafficking, which refers to accepting bribes or facing death.
In response, Petro replied: "Neither silver nor lead, my friend, love and freedom is what allows us to have a better humanity [...] Neither silver nor lead. Love and freedom for all human beings, without distinction." In his publication, the president reiterates that he doesn't give "lead" nor does he have or ask for "silver". "I have been elected to do justice to my people, I have achieved many things and it is my people who decide whether to defend me or not", he emphasized. "I already told you that if the private capital spaceships explode and NASA's don't, it's because the effort to leave the planet is not to escape, but to irrigate the universe with life and that is done not with one person or capital, however large, but with all of humanity, of all colors, including yours. But only the human brain in a network can achieve what you dream of as an individual," Petro added.
