Madrid.- Princess Leonor, heir to the Spanish throne, begins this Monday the last stage of her military training with her entry into the General Air Academy, after her time, the last two years, in the Army and the Navy. Leonor de Borbón (2005), who traveled to the General Air Academy of San Javier (Murcia, southeast) accompanied by the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, will prepare alongside 74 classmates in her aeronautical training to be able to take the controls of one of the planes in which students are instructed. The princess, after greeting the commanders and the commanders of the Academy and signing the guest book, put on her flight suit to board the Pilatus C-21 aircraft in which she will train with the rest of the students next year.

"Eager to learn, but little by little," said the Spanish heiress to reporters before entering the aircraft cabin when asked if flying intimidated her.

King Felipe VI's eldest daughter will follow a pre-established curriculum, which will begin with a month of theoretical teaching and about 50 hours of training in a simulator, before being able to board the Pilatus C-21, the new aircraft of the academy. The princess will follow an aeronautical instruction plan, exactly the same as the rest of the students, in the simulators, which provide a flight experience very similar to the real one and in a cabin identical to that of the plane.

For the time being, the heir to the Spanish Crown will meet this Monday the 74 classmates -60 men and 14 women- with whom she will share a course in which she will be just another student, just as she was in the General Military Academy of the Army of Zaragoza (north) and in the Naval School of Marín (Pontevedra, northwest).

Leonor de Borbón will finish her military training next July 2026 in that Academy, just like her father the king, then Prince Felipe, did 38 years earlier, who concluded, in the same way as his eldest daughter will do, the three years of instruction in the Armed Forces before beginning her academic training.
