London.- The Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Catherine, are «deeply concerned» about the ongoing revelations regarding the scandal of the convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, Kensington Palace in London reported this Monday.

This is the first time the opinion of Prince William, heir to the British crown, and his wife, the Princess of Wales, is known regarding the scope of the Epstein case, the millionaire who trafficked minors and young people for sexual exploitation.

The princes "think of the victims"

The Epstein case has implicated former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, brother of British King Charles III, who decided to strip him of all titles and honors last year and force him to leave his mansion at Royal Lodge, on the grounds of Windsor Castle. + The Princes of Wales, who always garner a great deal of media attention, added that they are thinking of the victims of the American millionaire, who appeared dead in his cell in August 2019. "I can confirm that the princes have been deeply concerned about the ongoing revelations. Their thoughts remain focused on the victims," a spokesperson for Kensington Palace, the official residence of William and Catherine, said today. The opinion of the Prince and Princess of Wales was made known while William begins an official visit to Saudi Arabia today, where he will meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

An agenda marked by scandal

Much of the royal family's work in recent weeks has been overshadowed by this scandal, which was rekindled when the U.S. Department of Justice released a large number of documents related to Epstein. This triggered more revelations about the extent of the link between Andrés and also the now former British ambassador to the United States Peter Mandelson with the pedophile.

In addition to Virginia Giuffre - the young woman trafficked by Epstein - accusing Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor of sexual abuse when she was a minor, a week ago the media released a photo in which the former prince is seen with a second woman, whom he is touching while she is lying on the floor. The king's brother has always insisted that he did not remember Giuffre and has emphasized that he has not committed any wrongdoing. Yesterday, Sunday, some documents released in the U.S. indicated that former Prince Andrew shared confidential information from his work as a UK trade envoy with Epstein in 2010 and 2011. A series of emails shows that Andrés sent details of his official trips to Singapore, Vietnam, Shenzhen and Hong Kong, as well as reports of those visits prepared by his assistant Amit Patel, shortly after receiving them.
