Washington.- United States carried out five attacks against multiple targets of the terrorist group Islamic State (IS) in Syria between January 27 and February 2, according to what was reported this Wednesday by the United States Central Command (Centcom).
The
Centcom forces located and destroyed with 50 precision munitions launched from aircraft, helicopters and drones, an ISIS communications center, a key logistics node and weapons depots.

The attacks occurred “while allied forces continue to exert military pressure to ensure the definitive defeat of the terrorist network,” Centcom explained in a statement.
US forces and their allies launched Operation Hawkeye Strike in response to an ISIS attack in Palmyra on December 13th, in which two Iowa National Guard soldiers and a US interpreter were killed.
On December 19, 2025, with support from Jordan, the first response was executed against about 70 ISIS targets in different areas of Syria (near Palmyra, Raqqa desert and Deir ez-Zor, among others) and on January 10, 2026, a second wave of large-scale attacks was carried out.
The third reported attack “demonstrates our constant focus and determination to prevent an ISIS resurgence in Syria,” stated Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of Centcom.
And he added that “operating in coordination with coalition forces and partners to ensure the definitive defeat of ISIS makes the United States, the region, and the world safer.”
Finally, Centcom reported that, after these almost two months of selective operations, more than 50 ISIS terrorists have been killed or captured.
