The war against Iran could extend for three to six more weeks, according to the Israeli military spokesman

New York.- The Israeli army estimates that the war against Iran that began alongside the United States on February 28th could last up to three to six more weeks, because we still have thousands of targets ahead of us, said the military spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to CNN. “We are prepared, in coordination with our American allies, with plans that will extend at least until the Jewish holiday of Passover (which begins April 1), within about three weeks. And we have more ambitious plans that cover even three more weeks,” said Brigadier General Effie Defrin. However, he made it clear that the Israeli Defense Forces "do not work with a stopwatch or a calendar, but to achieve their objectives," which consist of "severely weakening the Iranian regime."

Iran's Commitment

The American President, Donald Trump, stated on Saturday to NBC that he is not willing at this moment to reach an agreement with Iran, despite the fact that that country «wants to reach an agreement» because, according to the president, the conditions «are not yet good enough».

He asserted that for that to be achieved, any condition will have to be "very solid" and must include a commitment from Iran to set aside its ambition for nuclear weapons.

Defrin also told CNN that, since February 28, the Israeli Air Force has carried out about 400 waves of attacks in western and central Iran that have focused on dismantling infrastructure and attacking operatives of fire, defense and production units. The military spokesman believes that the massive attacks they are carrying out with the U.S. pushed Hezbollah in Lebanon to join the conflict, unlike its decision to stay out during the so-called twelve-day war last summer. "In June, they understood that it was a limited campaign in Iran, so they didn't attack. Now that everything has been made public, they are joining the fight," argued Defrin.
