Washington – The White House on Monday called the death of a protester at the hands of immigration agents in Minnesota a “tragedy,” while blaming local authorities of the Democratic Party for what happened.
In a press conference, White House spokeswoman, Karoline Leavitt, stated that the president, Donald Trump, “does not want any American to lose their life on the streets of the United States or in communities across the country.” “Consider that what happened on Saturday is a tragedy, but for President Trump all lives are equally valuable,” said the spokeswoman, stating that the media gives more attention to this case than to that of victims of irregular migrants. Leavitt recorded that Saturday’s shooting “remains under active investigation” by the FBI and blamed the Democrats for having agitated the streets. “This tragedy occurred as a result of a deliberate and hostile resistance by Democratic leaders in Minnesota for weeks,” said the spokeswoman, who said they spread “lies about federal law enforcement officers who risk their lives daily” to stop “undocumented criminals.” Trump had a phone call this Monday with the governor of Minnesota, Democrat Tim Walz, to address the situation, a conversation he described as positive. Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old American nurse, was shot and killed last Saturday by federal immigration agents during the protests in Minneapolis, the largest city in Minnesota, against the raids.

This is the second death in the demonstrations following the murder on January 7th of Renée Gold, also a U.S. citizen, at the hands of another immigration officer. Local authorities, from the Democratic Party, and protesters are calling on the Donald Trump Administration to withdraw troops from the city and end the raids. However, the leader accuses the leaders of encouraging the protests against immigration agents to divert attention from an alleged massive fraud in social programs.
