New York.- At least three injured and a 17-year-old suspect arrested, left a shooting this Saturday in Time Square in New York, which unleashed chaos in one of the main tourist spots in the city. The incident, due to an alleged verbal dispute, began at the intersection of 44th Street and 7th Avenue, where an 18-year-old woman and two men, aged 19 and 65, were injured, according to the New York City Police Department (NYPD). The alleged shooter is in police custody while the investigation continues, of which there are still no further details, while the injured remain in stable condition.

The shots caused hundreds of people in the area, mostly tourists, to flee the scene, according to videos shared on social media by witnesses. The shooting occurred almost two weeks after the one that left four dead, including a police officer, in Manhattan, where the shooter Shane Tamura, who committed suicide, fired in a skyscraper that houses companies such as the investment giant Blackstone and the offices of the National Football League (NFL). Despite these incidents, NYPD assured last Monday that New York had the lowest number of shootings in history in the first seven months of 2025, with 412 incidents and 489 victims, with a year-on-year drop of 26.4% in murders.
