Washington.- The president of the United States, Donald Trump, addressed the youngest ones this Monday in his first video published on TikTok since he returned to the White House: "You owe me one"

"To all those TikTok kids, I saved TikTok, so they owe me one. And now they're watching me here, in the Oval Office, and someday one of you will be sitting right at this desk and will also do a great job", Trump said in the video in which he appears sitting at the table in his presidential office.

The video is close to a million views in just three hours, has 147,000 likes and 6,000 comments, and has been shared more than 7,000 times. It is the first post by the president on this social network since the presidential elections of last November 5, when he won against the Democratic candidate, Kamala Harris. A few days ago, the Republican signed an executive order guaranteeing the "safe" and legal operation of the platform in the U.S. after reaching an agreement with its Chinese parent company, ByteDance. In 2024, Congress established that to protect national security, TikTok must be shut down in the U.S. if a company that operates the application in the North American country is not established, sufficiently detached from the Chinese parent company, especially regarding Beijing's access to servers that store user data. The tech giant Oracle will be in charge of ensuring the security of the application's algorithm in its US version, according to the White House. In an attempt to celebrate this new version, the White House opened an official profile on the video platform.
