The U.S. President, Donald Trump, assured this Monday that "there will never be a Third World War." "We are not going to have a Third World War, if we are smart. There will never be a Third World War," stated the US president before world leaders at the summit of peace on the Gaza Strip in Egypt. According to Trump, there were many people who said, for many decades, that World War III would start in the Middle East. "I have read it many times," he commented.

However, although there was a time when he thought that would have happened, he now considers that "it is not going to happen", because they are going to make sure that "the Middle East is going to be a safe place". "There will not be a Third World War, we hope not, but it will not start in the Middle East (...) Our work begins here and right now", he emphasized at that summit, where Trump, along with other world leaders, signed the agreement on the end of hostilities in the Gaza Strip. Regarding that agreement, previously, the occupant of the White House said that "it could be the most important thing I have ever participated in".
  • On October 10th a ceasefire came into effect between Israel and Hamas within the framework of the first phase of the peace plan proposed by Donald Trump.
  • From that moment on, the countdown of 72 hours granted to Hamas began to release the rest of the hostages who are still alive in Gaza, as well as to hand over the bodies of the deceased that it is able to recover within that period.
  • This October 13th Hamas released about twenty hostages. The first group included seven people and the second, 13.
