Washington.- The United States announced this Wednesday the restriction of visas for those responsible for a Mexican transportation company, whom it accuses of "facilitating illegal immigration" to US territory, although it did not detail the number of people affected or their identities. "Investigations indicate that the designated individuals organized the transportation of foreigners, including minors, from the Caribbean and other regions to transit points in Central America, where many were subsequently found attempting to illegally enter the United States", detailed the State Department in a statement.

Visa restrictions are imposed to prevent designated individuals from entering the United States. The measure "applies to executives and senior officials of a Mexico-based transportation company who knowingly provided travel services designed primarily for foreigners intending to immigrate illegally to the United States", although the note does not reveal which company it is. "The United States will not tolerate any attempt to undermine our national security or our immigration laws," the State Department noted. Furthermore, he promised that the Donald Trump Administration "will ensure that those who benefit from illegal immigration face consequences". Trump announced 30% tariffs on Mexican exports in retaliation for fentanyl trafficking and the arrival of undocumented migrants to the United States, although he postponed their entry into force to negotiate with the Mexican Government. The U.S. government has praised the cooperation of Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, who deployed some 10,000 National Guard members to the border, although it emphasizes that there is still work to be done.
