Caracas.- The National Institute of Civil Aeronautics of Venezuela (INAC) reported this Sunday on the resumption of flights with the Dominican Republic, suspended since July 2024 after the questioning of several countries for the proclamation of Nicolás Maduro as the winner of the presidential elections.
"INAC informs the resumption of passenger, cargo, and mail air operations to and from the Dominican Republic," the institution indicated on its Instagram account, which did not confirm whether the measure takes effect immediately.

These operations were suspended by order of Maduro's Executive since July 31 of last year, when he also closed the air connection with Panama, in response to what he then considered as "interventionist actions" by these countries in relation to the presidential elections held that month in the Caribbean nation. On May 27th, commercial flights between Panama and Venezuela resumed, although diplomatic relations between both countries remain on hold.
