With three years, seven months and 20 days, the youngest achieved an initial rating of 1,572 points in the rapid mode, after defeating several players already classified in competitions held recently in India.
Until now, the record was held by another Indian child, Anish Sarkar, who established it at three years, eight months and 19 days, in November 2024, in a succession of precocity records in the country.
The minor's father, Siddharth Singh Kushwaha, expressed the family's pride in the achievement. "It is a great pride and an honor for us that our son has become the youngest chess player in the world to achieve a FIDE rating," he told the Indian television channel ETV Bharat. "We want him to become a grandmaster."
