Sports writing (EFE).- Kenyan Albert Korir, winner of the New York Marathon in 2021 and podium in the last three editions, has been provisionally suspended for the use of a prohibited substance, a decision adopted by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU).

The AIU, an independent body created by World Athletics to manage integrity issues, whether or not related to doping, announced its decision to suspend Korir after the use of a prohibited substance was detected, without specifying further details about the case. Korir is one of the outstanding marathon runners of recent years, having shown his greatest consistency in New York with a total of 4 podium finishes and a victory.
