The El Higuamo representation, made up of the provinces of Higüey and San Pedro de Macorís, won 10 gold medals on the first day of the weightlifting tournament, and two bronze medals. The second place went to Metropolitana II (Monte Plata and Santo Domingo), with two gold medals, six silver, and three bronze, while El Suroeste (Barahona and Neyba) obtained two gold medals, one silver, and four bronze. In team table tennis, Cibao Norte achieved a gold and a silver, followed by El Higuamo, with a silver and a bronze, while Metropolitana I achieved a silver; while El Suroeste, Metropolitana II and Cibao Sur, a bronze each. Athletics awarded the first medals in the 800 meters and men's shot put, where Metropolitana II achieved a gold and a silver; El Higuamo won a gold and a bronze, while El Noroeste obtained a gold medal; Cibao Sur won two silver medals, while Metropolitana I and El Suroeste achieved a bronze. With the harvest of 13 gold medals on Thursday's day, El Higuamo was placed in the first position of the general medal table with a total of 53 medals, including 24 gold, seven silver and 22 bronze. Athletes Grisley Guzmán, from the Cibao Sur zone, and James Durán, from Cibao Norte, took home the gold medals in the women's and men's individual Kata modality, respectively, at the start of karate in the XI National School Sports Games. Grisley Guzmán (Cibao Sur) demonstrated superior technique to take first place. The silver medal went to Dana Vásquez, representing Cibao Norte, while Gabriela de los Santos, from the Metro 1 zone, completed the podium with the bronze. On the men's side, James Durán (Cibao Norte) was crowned champion, showing great skill and precision in his execution. Second place went to Guillermo Sánchez, from Metro 1. Third place was shared by Joskeny Ochoa, from the Metro 2 zone, and Adrián Romano, from Cibao Sur, who took home the bronze medal.Table tennis
The El Higuamo and Cibao Norte zones were proclaimed champions in the women's and men's table tennis team tournament, respectively, within the calendar of the XI National School Sports Games (JEDN). The event was held at the Polivalente Willyvaldo Paulino Rivas, located in the municipality of Salcedo, Hermanas Mirabal province. In the women's category, the representative El Higuamo was crowned champion by defeating Cibao Norte with a score of 3-0, who took the silver medal. The Cibao Sur and Suroeste zones shared the bronze medals. In the men's category, the Cibao Norte team defeated Metropolitana I 3-1 to win the championship title and the gold medal. Metropolitana I obtained the silver, and the bronze medals were shared between Metropolitana II and El Higuamo. In the women's category, the gold medals and souvenirs were presented to the champion team of El Higuamo by National Team athlete Eva Brito, the outstanding Dominican protocol lady Eladia “Tuty” Cordero, and the president of the Dominican Table Tennis Federation, Gary Hernández. The runners-up of Cibao Norte received their silver medals from the hands of the vice mayor of the municipality of Salcedo, Italia López, and the deputy director of the Educational District 07-02, Professor Jorge Valdés. The bronze medals were awarded to Cibao Sur and Suroeste by lawyer Benjamín Puello, legal director of INEFI, and district technician Félix Reynoso. In the men's division, the gold medals and souvenirs were awarded to the Cibao Norte champion team by Benjamín Puello, Italia López, and Jorge Valdés. The athletes Scali Méndez, Lesslie Peña Adames, Eriandy Suárez, and Walin Reyes won the gold medals in the snatch and clean & jerk during the start of the weightlifting competitions of the XI San Francisco 2025 National School Sports Games. The Enriquillo Club served as the stage for the competitive days of this school festival that has this sub-headquarters province. Méndez, from the Southwest zone, was proclaimed champion in the women's 44-kilogram category by lifting 35 kgs in the snatch and 46 in the clean and jerk. The silver medal went to Dulia Joseph (25 kgs and 36 kgs), from Metropolitan II, and the bronze to Yulaimy Soriano Berra (24 kgs and 27 kgs). In the 48 kilos, in addition to Peña Adames achieving gold in the snatch (46 kgs) and clean & jerk (55 kgs), Lusanny Jiménez Familia (40 kgs and 50 kgs), from Cibao Sur, and Nashley Thoas Víctor (30 kgs and 40 kgs), from Southwest, respectively, also conquered silver. In the men's category, Suárez and Reyes won the gold medal in the 56 and 60 kg categories for women, respectively, in the snatch event. Suárez was followed on the podium by Brayan Beltré de León, from the El Valle area, while the bronze went to Josua Martínez Capellán, from Cibao Sur. The Higuamo team stopped the momentum of the Northeast team, to win 51 to 44 in the first game this Thursday of the basketball tournament of the National School Sports Games. Captain Yerri Contreras led Higuamo's offense, with 20 points, followed by Julio Rijo with 15 units and 12 rebounds. For the Northeast, Enmanuel Amparo was the most outstanding with 12 points and 22 rebounds, while Angelo Lajara contributed 7 points and 13 rebounds. Higuamo dominated a large part of the match, managing to have a 13-point lead (46-33) thanks to their consistency in field goals (30%) and their control of the game.Cibao Norte 79, 63 Metropolitano I 63
Cibao Norte maintained its firm pace and authoritatively defeated the Metropolitano I team 79 to 63, with the great work of its squad and dominance on the boards. Captain Raynier Peña led the Cibao offensive, with 20 points, followed by Daneurys Vidal, with 17 points, and Lasniel González, with eight points and 13 rebounds. By Metropolitano I, Jaiden Guillén was again a key player with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Fernando Peña added 12 points and 8 rebounds.Men's Volleyball

The representative sextets from the Northeast, Cibao Norte, El Valle, and Southwest zones qualified for the semi-finals of the Men's Volleyball tournament within the framework of the XI National School Sports Games (JEDN), organized by the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI). The Volleyball discipline is held at the Fedevita Sports Center in the municipality of Villa Tapia, Hermanas Mirabal province, where the Northeast hosts concluded the regular series with an undefeated record of 4-0, securing first place in Group A. In that same key, Cibao Norte finished second with 3-1, while the Metropolitan II, El Higuamo and Northwest zones were eliminated with a 1-3 record each. In Group B, a three-way tie occurred between El Valle, Suroeste, and Metropolitana I, all with 2-2, with El Valle (first) and Suroeste (second) qualifying due to a better point difference. Metropolitana I and Cibao Sur were eliminated, the latter with a record of 0-3. During the day of this Thursday, two decisive matches were held. In the first one, Cibao Norte defeated Metropolitana II 2-0 with partial scores of 25-21 and 25-22. Steven Reyes led the winning offense with 12 points (11 attacks and 2 serves), followed by Yordany Torres with 9 points (7 attacks and 2 blocks). For the defeated, Yohan Coronado had 9 points (5 attacks, 3 blocks and 3 services) and Joseph Vinicio with 8 points. In the closing of the day, Nordeste defeated El Higuamo 2-0 with partials of 25-11 and 25-19, securing their undefeated classification. With great demonstrations of talent and competitive spirit, the fourth day of the Men's Futsal of the 2025 School Sports Games was held in the municipality of Castillo, where the different zones continued to play intense matches. In the first match, the Cibao Norte Zone achieved an important victory by winning 6 goals to 4 against the Northwest Zone. For the winners, Alexander Márquez scored three goals, Emil Alfredo Núñez scored two, and Aba Gabriel completed the count with one. For the defeated team, Elahim Antonio and Abiezer Acosta scored two goals each. In the second match, Zona El Valle widely dominated by defeating Zona Metropolitana I 5 goals to 0.
