Gamboa joins the yellow team after an extraordinary season in the
Mexican Baseball League (LMB) with the
Diablos Rojos del México, where he was recognized as the
Defensive Player of the Year 2025, after recording an outstanding
fielding factor of .993, which placed him among the best gloves in the circuit.
Elite Defense and Offensive Production
The versatile player can perform competently in
shortstop, second base, and third base, offering top-level defensive coverage. To that strength he adds a left-handed bat of great impact, as demonstrated by his 2025 numbers:
.376 average,
10 home runs and
52 RBIs in
68 games with the Diablos Rojos.
In the
Mexican Pacific League (LMP), wearing the uniform of the
Yaquis de Obregón, Gamboa also showed offensive consistency by batting
.276 with
15 RBIs.
Key bet in the decisive stretch
The Eagles' Baseball Operations Management explained that the hiring of Gamboa responds to the need to provide
greater stability to the infield and depth to the offensive order, just when five crucial games of the
Round Robin remain.
