Santiago – The Baseball Operations department of the Águilas Cibaeñas announced this Wednesday the hiring of infielder Raynel Delgado, named Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the past season with the Nashville Sounds, Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Cuban player joins the yellow team as part of the reinforcement plan for the 2025-2026 Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) tournament. Originally from Havana, Delgado, 25 years old, brings versatility, speed, and offensive power to the Aguilas lineup. He stands out for his ability as a switch hitter and his defensive ability in various infield positions, especially at second and third base. During his most recent campaign in Triple-A, Delgado shined with a batting average of .281, connecting 116 hits, 53 RBIs, and 40 stolen bases in 48 attempts, solidifying himself as one of the most complete players in the circuit. The general manager of the Cibaeñas Eagles, Gian Guzmán, highlighted the importance of this acquisition and the qualities that the player will bring to the team:Originally selected in the 2018 Draft by the Cleveland Indians, Delgado arrives at a key moment in the team's structuring process for the new season. With this signing, the Águilas Cibaeñas have confirmed so far five imported players: pitchers Devin Smeltzer, Triston McKenzie, Oscar Rayo and Charlie Barnes, along with the newly incorporated Raynel Delgado.“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Raynel to our organization.
