Sandy Alcántara dominated the Detroit Tigers in the 8-2 victory.

Ramirez hit his home run in the first inning against starting pitcher Tarik Skubal, opening the scoreboard 1-0 and marking a milestone in his debut season. With that blast, he joins figures like
Albert Pujols (47 in 2001), Julio Rodriguez (28 in 2022), Gary Sanchez (20 in 2016) and Nomar Mazara (20 in 2016), all members of the list of Dominican rookies with 20 or more home runs.
On the hill, Alcántara (9-12) showed his best version: he worked seven innings with just four hits and two earned runs, without giving up walks and with eight strikeouts, controlling the Detroit offense from start to finish.
The Marlins also had timely power:
Heriberto Hernández opened the second inning with a home run and
Javier Sanoja drove in three runs in total, while
Joey Wiemer sealed the deal with a three-run homer in the sixth inning.
For Detroit, the negative note was the early exit of Tarik Skubal, who barely pitched 3.1 innings before leaving the game with discomfort in his left side. He allowed four earned runs with four hits and two strikeouts.
Despite having a record below .500, the Marlins showed that they can still be an uncomfortable rival for any contender, supported by a solid performance from their Dominican ace and the emergence of young talents like Ramírez, whose name is already beginning to appear in MLB history books.
