Amador defines in extra innings and Águilas fly high against Licey at the Quisqueya

SANTO DOMINGO. – In a night of high tension and with the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium packed, the Águilas Cibaeñas once again showed why they dominate the table by defeating the Tigres del Licey 6-4 in ten innings, thanks to a decisive hit by Adael Amador with the bases loaded.

The Aguiluchos team, led by Luis Urueta, achieved its 15th victory of the season (15-3), maintaining its overwhelming pace after the All-Star break.
The Tigres, for their part, fell to 8-11. The victory went to “Jeurys Familia” (1-0) and the defeat fell on “J.C. Mejía” (0-1). “Jonathan Hernández” (1) was credited with the save. The Eagles opened the scoring in the third inning with a triple by Ezequiel Durán and a sacrifice fly by J.C. Escarra. In the fourth inning, the Cibaeña offense struck again when Alberto Rodríguez singled, Emmanuel Rodríguez doubled, and Jonatan Clase drove in two with a two-base hit to make the score 3-0. The Tigres scored in the bottom of the same inning with a single by Cristhian Adames and a home run by Luis Campusano to left field.

The Blues Tie and Force a Tenth

In the seventh, a single by Ángel Genao, followed by a double by Leody Taveras, allowed Durán to push the fourth run. However, Licey forced extra innings with a reaction in the ninth:
Cal Stevenson opened with a hit, Ángel Ortiz connected a run-scoring double and, after a ground ball by Sergio Alcántara, a wild pitch by Jeurys Familia allowed the tying run (4-4).

Amador responds in the big moment

In the tenth, the Eagles loaded the bases after a hit to Aderlin Rodríguez, another to Emmanuel Rodríguez and a strategic out by Steward Berroa.
With two outs and maximum pressure, Adael Amador hit a solid single to right field that drove in two runs and sealed the Eagles’ victory.
