Santo Domingo— Dominican players once again took center stage on Sunday’s Major League Baseball games, with
Rafael Devers,
Julio Rodríguez and
Edward Cabrera leading stellar performances.

In New York,
Rafael Devers hit a home run and drove in four runs to lead the
San Francisco Giants to a 12-4 victory over the Mets. For the New York team, the also Dominican
Mark Vientos scored a run, while right-hander
Frankie Montás took the loss after allowing seven runs in four innings.
In Miami,
Edward Cabrera shone on the mound with six innings of one run and seven strikeouts, guiding the
Marlins to a 7-3 victory and a sweep over the
Yankees.
Otto López and
Heriberto Hernández contributed with one run scored each. For New York,
Luis Gil allowed five runs in 3.1 innings and suffered the loss.
In Seattle,
Julio Rodríguez made history by hitting his 100th MLB home run and driving in two runs in the 5-4 victory of the
Mariners over the Rangers.
Jorge Polanco also hit a home run to contribute to the local offense.
Other prominent Dominicans included
Ramón Laureano, who hit a home run and scored twice in the 7-3 victory of the
Padres over the Cardinals; and
José Ramírez, who hit a two-run homer for the Guardians in the 5-4 loss to the Twins.
Not everyone had a positive day.
Framber Valdez was punished with six runs in six innings and was defeated by the
Red Sox.
