The Dominican triumph, combined with the 5-3 victory of the United States over Canada, guaranteed that the Quisqueyan team will become one of the best-positioned teams in the American continent of the tournament, which grants them direct access to the Olympic Games. According to the ranking system established by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), the two best-ranked teams from the Americas in the 2026 World Baseball Classic obtain direct spots for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic tournament. With their perfect record of five wins without losses in the championship, the Dominican Republic established itself as the American country with the best record, which ensures its presence in the Olympic Games.
