With the triumph, the Eagles improve their impressive record to 16-3, extending their lead over the Bulls to six and a half games, who now have a record of 10-10, remaining at .500.

Rodríguez and Escarra lead the eagle attack

The Cibao team had outstanding offensive performances by Alberto Rodríguez and J.C. Escarra, who drove in three runs each, while Leody Taveras, Ezequiel Durán, and Ángel Genao contributed two more runs apiece. Rodríguez was key in the five-run rally of the third inning, connecting a three-run home run against the Toros' starting pitcher, Aaron Brooks, putting the score at 5-3 and turning the game around.

The Bulls took the lead early

The Romanenses attacked first with a three-run rally in the first inning, led by a single by Sandber Pimentel that drove in two. However, ineffective pitching and defensive errors opened the door to the Aguilucho attack.

Eagles respond to every threat

After the Toros closed the score to 6-5 in the sixth inning, the Eagles immediately responded with a run in the bottom half and then a decisive four-run rally in the seventh, definitively sealing the score. In that inning, Durán drove in two runs with a single, while Escarra hit a triple to right field that drove in another to make the score 13-6.

Mound Performances

  • Winner: Pedro Payano (1-0)
  • Loser: Aaron Brooks
The Aguilucho pitching staff withstood the visiting threats, while the Toros' relief failed to contain the yellow offense.
