three hits throughout the entire game.
Giants Strike First
The visitors took command of the game early. In the first inning, Samad Taylor singled to center field and advanced to third on a throwing error by starting pitcher Adonis Medina. A sacrifice fly by Luis García brought in the first run of the game.
In the third, another sacrifice fly —this time by Leury García— combined with an error in Emilio Bonifacio's throw, allowed Taylor to score again, extending the lead to 2-0.
Licey reacts in the seventh
The Tigres broke the Cibaeño dominance in the top of the seventh inning. A double by Francisco Mejía advanced Mel Rojas Jr. to third, and a run-scoring single by Cal Stevenson produced the first blue run.
Shortly after, a sacrifice fly by Armando Álvarez tied the score 2-2, giving new life to the capital team.
Giants Respond Immediately
But in the closing of the same seventh, the Giants regained control of the game. Luis García responded again with the bat, connecting a run-scoring single to center field against Misael Tamárez. Then, a sacrifice fly by Deyvison De Los Santos brought in the fourth run, putting the score at 4-2, a score that remained until the end.
Cibao Mound Domain
The Giants' pitching was key in the victory, allowing only three hits to the Licey and controlling every attempt at a threat.
