Santo Domingo. — The president of the Gigantes del Cibao, Alfredo Acebal Rizek, expressed his enthusiasm and high expectations for the 2025-2026 season of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), during the press conference to present the tournament dedicated to Hall of Fame member Cooperstown, Juan Marichal.

Acebal Rizek pointed out that this will be a year of intense competition among the six teams of the winter circuit and highlighted the positive atmosphere surrounding the start of the championship. “We are very happy, the atmosphere is super positive and we are eager for the tournament to begin,” said the president of the Cibao team.
The executive highlighted the hard work done during the offseason in the restructuring of the team, including the integration of new imported players, young talent and veterans, as well as an almost total renovation of the coaching staff and changes in the general management. “We have formed a team based on the weaknesses we had last season. We are well positioned to compete and seek the title,” he assured.
Acebal Rizek also referred to the
Cibao Series in New York, which will be held on the first weekend of November and is officially part of the calendar. “We are happy to be able to bring the talent of Dominican baseball to the fans in New York. It is a unique opportunity for our followers there to enjoy the team”, he expressed.
Finally, the president of the Giants sent a message to the fans of San Francisco de Macorís: “We ask for your support. Last year was not the best, but this year we have done everything necessary to compete strongly. We await you at the Julián Javier stadium to fight together for another great season.”
