San Francisco de Macorís. – The Gigantes del Cibao announced the signing of American catcher Cooper Johnson, who will be part of the group of imported players for the 2025-26 season of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM).

Johnson, 27, was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the sixth round of the 2019 Draft, and is recognized for his solid defense behind the plate, his ability to manage the pitching staff, and his leadership on the field.
During the 2025 season, the catcher played between Double-A and Triple-A in the Texas Rangers organization, where he accumulated 73 hits, including 9 home runs, 40 RBIs, 40 runs scored, and 4 stolen bases. In addition, he recorded an OBP of .329 and an OPS of .680, showing a balanced and consistent offensive profile.
