MIAMI. – Dominican baseball legend Juan Marichal expressed his confidence in the Dominican Republic national team (baseball team) before the match against Venezuela (baseball team) in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, highlighting the unity and focus he observes in the players.

The Cooperstown Hall of Fame member assured that the Dominican team has the necessary talent to be victorious in the important commitment of the tournament. "It's a tremendous team. Tonight we face a very good team like Venezuela, but I believe those guys are ready to win this game," Marichal said referring to the Dominican team. The former pitcher also highlighted the chemistry he has seen within the Dominican team's clubhouse, noting that this aspect can be key to achieving success in an international competition. "What has impressed me the most is the unity I see among them. That's worth a lot when you want to do a good job. They are very united and very focused on the game," he said. Marichal also took the opportunity to send a message to Dominican fans, inviting them to continue supporting the national team in the tournament.
