Following a meeting of its main directors and in consultation with the office of the Commissioner of Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA), FENAPEPRO issued an official statement in which it set its institutional position on the case."The National Federation of Professional Baseball Players (FENAPEPRO) reaffirms its absolute commitment to the principles of transparency, integrity, and fair play that govern professional baseball. Defense of Players' Rights
The entity recalled that one of its main pillars is the defense of the rights and dignity of professional baseball players, ensuring that any disciplinary or administrative process is carried out in accordance with due process and the presumption of innocence. Likewise, the Federation insisted that any measure involving active or investigated players must be adopted with "balance, transparency, and respect for the previously agreed procedures" between the parties. In its statement, FENAPEPRO reported that it has requested an urgent meeting with the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) to learn the details of the case and seek a solution in accordance with current regulations.The National Federation of Professional Baseball Players reiterates its commitment to the institutional strengthening of Dominican baseball and to the fair defense of the rights of its members, reaffirming that every decision must be guided by ethics, equity, and respect for the law.“FENAPEPRO advocates that any measure or decision involving players be adopted with balance, transparency, and in accordance with the procedures previously agreed upon between the parties, for the benefit of the sport and our players.
That is why it has requested an urgent meeting with the Dominican Baseball League to learn about the case that has been arbitrarily discussed in the media, without having consulted the institution,” concludes the document.
