Santo Domingo. – The Reales de Santiago and the Granjeros de Moca remain the most solid teams in the 17th edition of the National Summer Baseball League (LIBEVE), leading their respective divisions after two weekends of competition.

The Royals exhibit a perfect 6-0 record to lead the North-Central Division, while the Farmers record 5-1, leading the North-South Division. The current season is dedicated to the Administrative Minister of the Presidency, Andrés Bautista.
Friday’s action featured some great individual performances. In Boca Canasta, the Granjeros defeated the Mangueros de Baní 1-0 thanks to a brilliant start by Jhon Henríquez, who worked four scoreless innings.
In Salcedo, the Arroceros de San Francisco de Macorís defeated the Capitanes 4-2 with another solid performance by veteran Raúl Valdés, who pitched four scoreless innings to extend his streak to nine consecutive innings without allowing runs at the start of the championship.

Meanwhile, the Reales starred in one of the most exciting games of the weekend by defeating the Atléticos de Puerto Plata 11-10 in extra innings, deciding the game with a sacrifice fly by Gregory Durán, who entered as a pinch hitter.
At the end of the day, the national champions, Mineros de Bonao, defeated the Bravos de La Vega 3-1 at the La Vega Olympic Stadium, supported by a pitching gem from Manny Correa, who pitched five scoreless innings.
On Saturday, Santiago reasserted its dominance by defeating the Arroceros 14-1 by knockout at the Ramón A. Perdomo stadium. Deury Ramos led the offense by batting 3-for-3 with a double and four RBIs, while Gregory Durán went 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs, and Snafe Álvarez finished 3-for-5 with two doubles, three runs scored, and one RBI.
In Moca, the Granjeros beat the Bravos 8-1 with an outstanding performance by Jojanse Torres, who pitched five innings of one-run ball. On offense, Wander A. Franco stood out by going 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs.

For their part, the Mineros reacted at home with a 17-7 victory over the Mangueros. Luis Peña dominated from the mound with six innings of one-run ball and nine strikeouts, while Omar Meregildo hit two home runs and Michael De León added another.
In Puerto Plata, the Atléticos defeated the Capitanes 9-7. Junior Rincón pitched five innings of two-run ball with six strikeouts, while Lenny Sánchez drove in three runs and José King contributed two hits and an RBI.
The Sunday slate was highlighted by the historic victory of the Granjeros, who crushed the Mineros de Bonao 21-5 via knockout. Junior Sanquintín and Christopher Familia hit home runs, while Ricardo Céspedes Jr. went 3-for-3 with a double and four RBIs.
The Reales kept their undefeated record intact by prevailing 4-3 over the Capitanes in Salcedo, thanks to a Reggie Cerda single in the ninth inning that broke the tie.
In Baní, the Bravos defeated the Mangueros 11-3 with an outstanding offensive performance by Yuli Vitini, who hit a home run and drove in four runs. From the mound, Cristopher Ogando worked 5.2 innings, allowing three runs.
Finally, the Arroceros closed the Sunday schedule by defeating the Athletics 8-5 in San Francisco de Macorís. Jean Luis García pitched four scoreless innings and Tony Peña led the offense with a 4-for-2 day, a home run, and five runs batted in.
The actions of the National Summer Baseball League will continue this Friday, July 17, with a full slate of games across all four venues. LIBEVE reminded that the schedule will take a break during the weekends of July 31 to August 2 and August 7 to 9, due to the celebration of the Central American and Caribbean Games.
As part of this adjustment, the matches originally scheduled for the weekend of July 31 to August 2 will be moved forward to July 24, 25, and 26, dates that were initially free on the official calendar.
