Through the Sociedad Industrial Dominicana (today Grupo SID), the Bonnetti Guerra brothers supported a group of young people from Villa Juana who, through the Mauricio Báez Club, sought better opportunities and care for the residents of their neighborhood. "How inspiring it is to look back and remember that dirt court and see what it has become today. This is the result of the vocation of integral citizens, which is projected throughout Villa Juana and dispersed throughout the country," expressed José Miguel in his thank you speech on behalf of both brothers. "I remember this journey of more than 60 years, above all, those conversations between my brother Roberto, Leo (Corporán) and me, seeing in Leo's eyes that hunger and desire to contribute to his neighborhood," highlighted the director of the SID Group. "This is a story woven over the years. Congratulations to Mauricio Báez for his dedication." Don Leo Corporán, advisor and advitam president of the Mauricio Báez Club, recalled how the Bonetti Guerra brothers collaborated without hesitation with the residents of the Villa Juana neighborhood in times of difficulty. "Their contribution (José Miguel and Roberto's) was vital for Mauricio Báez not to succumb in its beginnings. You can't imagine what it means to us that they are here. They helped many people in need. "They never said no when we knocked on their doors," Corporán pointed out in his speech. José -Boyón- Domínguez, a sports immortal and current president of the Mauricians, highlighted the contributions the entity has made since its founding in 1963. "The Mauricio Báez Club for 62 years has continuously contributed and served the country and sports with its firm vision and commitment to make a more dignified life and opportunities for all a reality in the community of Villa Juana and surrounding areas," said Boyón Domínguez. The former national basketball team player indicated that the results that the sports and cultural entity exhibits today are the result of the tenacious work carried out. "Let's keep contributing continuously, without stopping or looking back, and thus offer the thousands of children, adolescents, young people, adults, and elderly people who have benefited from our programs, a better quality of life," exhorted Boyón. In addition to the honorees and directors of the Mauricio Báez Club, Roberto Ángel Salcedo, Kelvin Cruz, Garibaldy Bautista, Jesús -Chu- Vásquez, Luis Mejía Oviedo, David Collado, José P. Monegro, General Delio Colón, Dr. José Joaquín Puello, Chinese Ambassador Chen Luning, Milagros Ortiz Bosch and Mariano Germán were at the head table.
