Wander Franco reports million-dollar robbery at a hotel in Puerto Plata

Puerto Plata. Dominican baseball player Wander Franco publicly reported being the victim of a robbery while staying at a hotel in the province of Puerto Plata.

Through a live broadcast on his social media, Franco reported that he left the sum of 2 million Dominican pesos in his room before going out to train, and that upon returning he only found 1 million pesos, thus denouncing the disappearance of the other half of the money. The player stated that the incident occurred inside the hotel where he is staying and expressed his indignation at the situation. Although he did not offer additional details about whether he has already filed a formal complaint with the authorities, he made it clear that he expects the case to be investigated and what happened to be clarified. Wander Franco, who in recent years has been one of the most followed Dominican figures in Major League Baseball, reiterated that he will continue to demand answers and drew attention to the safety in hotel establishments in the north of the country. So far, neither the police authorities nor the hotel administration have issued official statements regarding the complaint.
