Cameron (3-4), in the best outing of his season, worked seven solid innings, allowing only three hits and two runs, both the product of a home run by Tommy Pham in the third inning. For his part, Bobby Witt Jr. was once again a star, batting 3-2 with two runs scored and three RBIs. He extended his hitting streak to 11 games and reached 13 home runs on the season, with a two-run homer in the fourth inning that put the game 6-2 in favor of the home team. He added a sacrifice fly in the sixth to drive in another. Nick Loftin also contributed with a solo home run in the eighth, completing Kansas City’s power attack, which shook four home runs in total. For the Pirates, Dominican Alexander Canario drove in the team’s third run in the ninth inning with a single.
