SANTO DOMINGO,— The American reinforcement BJ Fitzgerald and the Dominican Jayvian De la Cruz combined to lead Los Prados club to an important 82-73 victory over Huellas del Siglo, in the continuation of the regular season of the National District Superior Basketball Tournament (TBS Distrito 2025), in a duel played on Tuesday night at the Ricardo –Gioriver– Arias Volleyball Palace.
The tournament enters a crucial week, the penultimate of the regular season, with a double header in its 16th matchday out of a total of 20.

Fitzgerald shone with 23 points and eight assists, being the offensive engine of the Pradeño team, while De la Cruz added 19 points and five rebounds. The Puerto Rican reinforcement Ángel Matías also had an outstanding performance by registering a double-double of 14 points and 15 rebounds, in addition to distributing five assists. With this triumph, Los Prados improved their record to 4-4, placing them in the third position of Group A, while Huellas del Siglo fell to 3-5, descending to fourth place in the same division. Each group (A and B) qualifies three teams to the Elimination Phase, carrying over their record obtained in the regular season, which makes each match of great importance in this final stretch. By Huellas del Siglo, the American reinforcement Emmanuel Egbuta stood out again with 23 points and 14 rebounds, Anphernee Acevedo contributed 17 units, seven rebounds and seven assists, while the York-Dominican Miguel Miranda added 11 points. The match marked the end of the intergroup matches of the tournament, which is in decisive days to define the tickets to the next phase. The TBS Distrito 2025 is organized by the Asociación de Baloncesto del Distrito Nacional (Abadina), under the presidency of Colonel (PN) Diego Pesqueira, and has an Organizing Committee headed by José Ignacio Paliza, Minister of the Presidency. The current edition is dedicated to the Dominican Sports Immortal Evaristo Pérez, former player of the national team and the San Carlos club.
