Miami (USA) (EFE).- Businessman Tom Dundon, owner of the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes, has reached an agreement to purchase the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers for more than $4 billion, ESPN reported.

Dundon closed a deal with the heirs of the billionaire and co-founder of Microsoft, Paul Allen, who controlled the Oregon franchise after the death of their father in 2018, and put it up for sale last May.
According to the aforementioned source, the agreement will exceed 4 billion dollars and the franchise will remain in Portland.

In addition, all proceeds will go to philanthropic works, following Allen’s wishes. The businessman had bought the Trail Blazers in 1988 for 70 million dollars.
