In the first game of the double-header, Pueblo Nuevo defeated Buitres de Lavapiés 95 to 84, led by another brilliant performance from the reinforcement Luis López, who once again proved to be one of the most dominant players in the tournament by scoring 32 points, propelling his team to their first victory of the season. López counted on the support of the also reinforcement Jean Quezada, who was a true wall in the paint, finishing with a solid double-double of 10 points and 18 rebounds, being a key piece in both defense and in the second offensive opportunity.
The López–Quezada duo showed great chemistry on the court and at times neutralized the rival team's comeback attempts.

For the defeated Vultures, veteran Jeison Colomé once again stood out with 24 points, while native Robert Martínez contributed 11 units, although their efforts were not enough to reverse a game that Pueblo Nuevo managed with rhythm, precision and a greater bench depth.

Triumphant Debut for Ciro Pérez

In the second match of the day, one of the most anticipated moments of the tournament was experienced: the return of the historic club Ciro Pérez, which after two years of absence, formalized its return with an exciting 89-86 victory over the Huracanes de Madre Vieja. The most winning team in the history of San Cristóbal's superior basketball lived up to expectations, with an outstanding performance by reinforcement Bernardo Polanco, who led the offense with 27 points and became the team leader in the decisive moments. Also shined the reinforcement Kelvin Furcal, dominating the painted area and concluding with an imposing double-double of 16 points and 17 rebounds, providing solidity on both sides of the court. Special mention for the native Najib Ramos, who was lethal from long distance, scoring 15 points with a perfect 5 of 5 in triples, being decisive in maintaining the lead in the final minutes.
The tournament, which celebrates its 35th edition, is organized by the San Cristóbal Basketball Association (ABASANCRIS), chaired by Eddy Montás, and is supported by the Ministry of Sports, EGEHID and the Copa Banreservas, reflecting the institutional commitment to the sports development of the province. The action continues this Sunday from 11:00 a.m. with a triple bill, where the teams will return to the court in search of climbing positions and continue igniting the passion for basketball in San Cristóbal. With notable public support, a rising technical level, and the return of emblematic clubs, the Superior Tournament of San Cristóbal reaffirms its position as one of the most important sporting events in the south of the country.
