COD President receives international water ski delegation and analyzes preparations for Santo Domingo 2026

SANTO DOMINGO, RD. – The president of the Dominican Olympic Committee, Garibaldy Bautista, held a meeting with a delegation from the national and international water skiing community to learn about concerns related to the preparation of this discipline for the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.

Mario Pigozzi, president of the Dominican Water Ski Federation, and José Antonio Pérez Priego, head of the International Water Ski Federation, participated in the meeting.

The delegation was also comprised of Diego Restrepo, international technical director, and Canaido Moz, president of the technical committee of the international organization. During the meeting, the directors expressed various concerns related to the installation that will host the water skiing competitions at the regional event, which will be held from July 24 to August 8 in the country. The representatives of the international federation reported that they carried out a technical survey of the stage where the discipline's tests will be held, after which they prepared a report with the aspects that must be completed for the installation to meet the conditions required for the event. They also announced that a final technical inspection will be carried out in June by the international sports management, as a preliminary step to the celebration of the competitions. For his part, engineer Bautista reiterated the commitment of the "Dominican Olympic Committee" to work in a coordinated manner with sports federations and the organizing committee of the games to guarantee the success of water skiing in the regional event. The Olympic leader also pledged to channel the concerns presented to the organizing committee, with the aim of ensuring that the competition venue is in optimal condition. The delegation thanked the opening and support of the Olympic body, highlighting the importance of joint work to strengthen the technical and organizational development of water skiing in the country. 🎬 Video of the meeting:
