Morristown, New Jersey.– The Argentina national team managed to complete its final training session this Saturday ahead of the 2026 World Cup final against Spain, after a heavy storm forced a delay in the start of practice at the Red Bull Academy in Morristown.

The training session began with a delay of nearly 45 minutes due to weather conditions. An intense downpour accompanied by strong winds and electrical activity triggered FIFA’s safety protocol, which mandates the immediate suspension of activities when lightning is detected within 13 kilometers of the location.
In accordance with the regulations, practice could only resume after 30 minutes had passed without any new lightning strikes in the area.
During the first 15 minutes open to the press, head coach Lionel Scaloni worked with the team and hinted at possible changes to the starting lineup to face Spain this Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

In addition to the players who started the semifinal match against England, the coach included Giovani Lo Celso, Thiago Almada, and Rodrigo De Paul in the exercises, who appear as options to enter the starting eleven.
Although the rain returned during the session, the absence of thunderstorms allowed the training to continue as normal.
Argentina arrives at the final with one day less of preparation than Spain, after playing their semifinal last Wednesday, which is why Scaloni considered it essential to complete this last practice session before the decisive match for the world title.
