Cibao FC visits Salcedo on Sunday in matchday 18 of the LDF

SANTIAGO. Cibao FC and Salcedo FC, both qualified for the Liguilla, will face each other on Sunday at 3:30 in the afternoon at the Domingo Polonia stadium, as part of matchday 18 of the Dominican Republic Football League (LDF 2025-2026), dedicated to the memory of the promoter of this discipline, Dr. José Rafael Abinader.

The clash on Sunday will be on Salcedo FC's territory, at the Domingo Polonia stadium, with the second position at stake. Scheldeur “Junior” Sainvilus' team has 35 points, the result of 11 victories, two draws and three defeats. Salcedo is third with 32 points; a victory will tie them with the orange club. Their points have been achieved with nine wins, five draws and two defeats. Cibao FC has a total of 34 goals scored, while its goalkeepers Miguel Lloyd, Edwin “Gato” Fría and Elián López have only conceded 11, for a positive balance of +23, the best in the LDF. Salcedo FC has 30 goals scored and has received 17, for a balance of +13. The top scorer for the defending champions is Ángel Pérez, with eight goals. Carlos “Caballo” Ventura and Edwarlyn Reyes have scored three each. With two goals are Wilman Modesta, Julio César Murillo, Javier Roces, Walter Acuña, Rivaldo Correa, Julián Gómez and Leonardo Villalba. With one are Jean Carlos López, Gabriel Peguero, Yunior Peralta, Cesarín Ortiz and Gonzalo Alarcón. Salcedo FC's top scorer of the tournament, Daniel Jamesley, stands out with 13 goals, positioning himself to win the season's "Pichichi" award. Gastón Comas has four goals; Alejandro Carrera and Starlin Alba have two; and Kersen Dessin, Brayan Bermúdez, Carlos Rossell, Jean Carlos Almánzar, Cherry Wilson, and Jairo Alegría each have one.

In another Sunday game, at 3:30 in the afternoon, Universidad O&M will face Atlántico FC at the Panamericano stadium. The 18th matchday opens this Friday with the duel between Atlético Vega Real and Delfines del Este, at 5:00 in the afternoon at El Cóndor stadium. On Saturday, in the only scheduled match, Club Atlético Pantoja will receive Moca FC at the Panamericano stadium, with the initial whistle scheduled for 3:00 in the afternoon.
