Also processed for a sexual assault offense is footballer Pablo Jara, who has been imposed a bail of five thousand euros. Both are summoned to make an “investigatory declaration” next Monday, October 13, although in the case of Mir and at the request of his lawyer, he will do so telematically.
The instructor understands that, from the proceedings carried out during the investigation of the case, there are indications and not mere suspicions that suggest that Mir, who was then playing on loan from Sevilla at Valencia, sexually assaulted on two occasions one of the two women whom he, Jara, and another friend had previously met at a nightclub in Valencia.
Mir spent two nights in detention
The events occurred during the early hours of September 1, 2024, at Mir’s home in an urbanization in Bétera (Valencia), specifically in the swimming pool and in a bathroom.
The judge also appreciates indications of the commission of a crime of sexual assault without carnal access and a minor crime of injuries by Jara, with respect to a second woman.

In September 2024, the Police arrested Mir and Jara following a complaint filed by two women, who stated that they went to the footballer’s house after meeting at a nightclub, that Mir sexually assaulted one of them, and that Jara had made physical contact and assaulted the other after she refused to have sexual relations with him.
Mir, who spent two nights detained at the Civil Guard barracks, acknowledged in his appearance before the judge that he had had sexual relations with the complainant but maintained that they were consensual.
Both women reported that, after those events, and after managing to get away from the soccer players, they were kicked out of the house in their underwear and the rest of their clothes were thrown over the fence.
A neighbor from the urbanization called the Bétera Police after hearing screams and seeing the two girls disoriented and in the street.
El Elche rules out disciplinary action against Rafa Mir
Elche rules out disciplinary action against its player Rafa Mir after being charged with a sexual assault offense with carnal access and use of violence.
The Elche club, according to official sources from the entity, has confirmed to Efe that they fully trust in the presumption of innocence of the footballer, who arrived this summer at the club on loan from Sevilla and who has scored three goals in eight matchdays that have been played in the competition.
The entity recalls that it was fully aware of the situation of the player from Murcia before his incorporation and fully aligns with its coach, Eder Sarabia, who already publicly showed his support for Mir after the last match in Vitoria, where he was insulted by part of the Deportivo Alavés fans.
