Madrid. – Real Madrid confirmed this Monday a new and delicate injury of Éder Militao, who will be four months out of the playing fields after suffering a muscle tear in the biceps femoris of the left leg, with involvement of the proximal tendon. The diagnosis came after the magnetic resonance imaging performed hours after the Brazilian defender fell injured during the match against Celta de Vigo at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.

“Following tests carried out on our player Éder Militão by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a rupture in the femoral biceps of the left leg with involvement of the proximal tendon. Pending evolution,” the club reported in a medical report.A new injury in a worrying streak
Militao suffered another long-term injury for the third consecutive season. At 21 minutes into the match corresponding to matchday 15 of LaLiga EA Sports, the defender collapsed while trying to block a shot from forward Pablo Durán, immediately feeling the rupture in the back of his thigh. The first few hours were crucial in reducing the internal inflammation caused by the injury, allowing doctors to obtain clearer images at Ciudad Real Madrid, where the worst prognosis was confirmed.Recent Injury History
The situation of Militao is especially worrying considering his history:- In 2024/25, it took eight months to recover from a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament with damage to the meniscus of the right knee.
- In August 2023, he suffered the same injury, but in the left knee, in the first official match of the 2023/24 season.
- Since that first serious injury, the Brazilian has only been able to play 46 matches out of the 146 that Real Madrid has played.
Another challenge for the white defense
The absence of Militao poses another challenge for coach Xabi Alonso, who will have to reorganize his defensive line in a schedule packed with key commitments. The Brazilian, considered one of the pillars of the Real Madrid defense, now faces a new and lengthy recovery process with the aim of returning in the final stretch of the season.
